As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun, and the stresses of daily life, can be seen in their faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth; the jawline grows slack and folds and fat deposits, appear around the neck.

A facelift (technically known as rhytidectomy), can’t stop this aging process. What it can do is “set back the clock,” improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures, such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.

The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. Most patients are in their forties to sixties, but facelifts can be done successfully on people in their seventies or eighties as well.

A facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self-confidence in the process, but it is important to realize that the aging process will continue after surgery.

Dr. Brandon Kallman is known for his outstanding facelift results and has successfully performed the procedure innumerable times and has helped countless patients improve their appearance and self-confidence. A forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.

In a forehead lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. You may use the conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind the hairline; or it may be performed with the use of an endoscope, a viewing instrument that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Both techniques yield similar results – smoother forehead skin and a more youthful outlook.

A forehead lift is most commonly performed in the 40-60 age range to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, it can also help people of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress or muscle activity.

Dr. Brandon Kallman’s expert techniques and experience make him well suited to perform your procedure. Please contact Dr. Kallman today to learn more about a browlift or to schedule for a consultation at his Miami Beach or Hollywood office.

Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat–usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. However, it won’t remove crow’s feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes, it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or browlift.

The best candidates for eyelid surgery are men and women who are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in their expectations. Most are 35 or older, but if droopy, baggy eyelids run in your family, you may decide to have eyelid surgery at a younger age. A few medical conditions make blepharoplasty more risky. These include thyroid problems such as hypothyroidism and Graves’ disease, dry eye or lack of sufficient tears, high blood pressure or other circulatory disorders, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. A detached retina or glaucoma is also a reason for caution; we may ask you to check with your ophthalmologist before you have surgery.

Dr. Brandon Kallman is a well-respected eyelid surgery practitioner and he can help you review your options and make the right decision about eyelid surgery.

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems. Reshaping the nose is a delicate process that requires experience and tremendous skill. Dr. Brandon Kallman possesses such abilities. Dr. Kallman has been featured at many educational symposia and has been asked to speak on Rhinoplasty at many of the U.S. top universities.

The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you’re physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate. Rhinoplasty can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes to correct birth defects or breathing problems.

Most people who are in good overall physical and mental health may undergo rhinoplasty, although young patients may need to wait until their noses are finished growing. It’s important to consider teenagers’ social and emotional adjustment, too, and to make sure it’s what they, and not their parents, really want.

When choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon, it is important to select a doctor with skill and experience. Dr. Brandon Kallman can help you create a nose that fits in with your other features and looks natural. He can also help you understand the benefits and limitations of rhinoplasty so that you can make the decision that is right for you.

Ear Reshaping (technically called Otoplasty) corrects prominent or protruding ears and sets them back closer to the head or reduces them in size. This procedure is performed on children as early as five years of age, but people of almost any age are candidates for ear reshaping. By five, the ear cartilage has grown to nearly adult size and is resilient enough to support corrective surgery.

We use special suture techniques to reshape the ear cartilages into a natural shape. These techniques are well established and time-proven. You may never think about your ears. But if you do, otoplasty can give you, or your child, gratifying, permanent results quickly and effectively.

Chin surgery, also known as genioplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Many times, chin surgery may be recommended to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose.

Chin surgery helps provide a harmonious balance to your facial features, so that you feel better about the way you look.

In the medical world, the fat injection procedure is known as autologous fat transplantation or microlipoinjection. It involves extracting fat cells and stem cells, hidden in the fat, from the patient’s abdomen, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere and reinjecting them beneath the facial skin.  Most exciting right now, is the usage of fat for breast augmentation and the correction of asymmetries in breasts shape and size . Fat is most often used to fill in “sunken” cheeks or laugh lines between the nose and mouth, to correct skin depressions or indentations, to minimize forehead wrinkles and sunken in temples.  Dr. Kallman uses the latest,  up to the minute techniques, to maximize the effect and longevity of  your fat injections using the latest scientific research and evidence.  This is a procedure that has revolutionized Dr. Kallman’s results in facelifting. Using fat injections, he creates a youthful, full, cherubic, shaped face.  In other words, he makes you look more youthful, not stretched like you’ve been through a wind tunnel.  You look like you went into a time machine and stepped out before you reached the current year.  He constantly strives to use fat injections, as the icing on the cake.  His results demonstrate the artistry he commands and the attention to the most minute details, he uses to create consistently fabulous results.
